Excelsior Springs Area Cultural Guild

Excelsior Springs Community Guild sponsors annual events, such as Gatsby Days, Tombstone Tours and the Mardi Gras throughout the year. Our non-profit organization is dedicated to "inspiring the arts" and encouraging and promoting appreciation for the fine arts through education and participatory events. Annual events raise money to provide scholarships for area youth pursuing an education in the arts.

Mardi Gras - celebrated in February. Join us in your best Mardi Gras attire and help solve a murder mystery. Costume contest, 50/50 raffle and a chance to join the silent auction for Mardi Gras masks, decorated by local artists. A night of drinks, appetizers, murder and fun. Held in historic downtown Excelsior Springs.

Gatsby Days - Relive the 1920s in Excelsior Springs the last week of April in honor of Excelsior Springs' Golden Era. The theme is based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic novel "The Great Gatsby." A variety of events re featured throughout the weekend that explore culture and history in and around the 1920s, through music, art, dance, fashion, theatre and educational programs. Entertainment for all ages held in historic downtown Excelsior Springs. Come kick up your heels!

Cemetery Legends: a Tombstone Tour - Travel to Excelsior Springs' past and meet the visionaries who helped shape our community. In October a guided tour takes you back to meet selected, legendary people portrayed by re-enactors. Tours in Excelsior Springs Crown Hill Cemetery and Masonic Cemetery on the west side of town.
