Christmas in Excelsior Springs is a series of holiday events and attractions in the heart of Excelsior Springs. It’s a one-of-a-kind winter experience that features 14 different events.

Online Christmas Wreath Auction
New to the Christmas mix this season, is the Christmas Wreath Auction. This auction will take the place of our beloved Hall of Trees. The online auction will begin on Tuesday, November 16th at 10:00 AM and conclude on Friday, November 26 at 5:00 PM. At that time, the highest bidder wins! All wreaths will be available for in person viewing on Saturday, November 20th at the Mistletoe Market at the Montgomery Even Venue. Holiday Open Houses
Join us on the streets of Downtown Excelsior Springs on Saturday, November 20th for one of the most wonderful times of the year! During the Holiday Open Houses you can get ahead of the hustle and bustle of December shopping and love the experience. Stroll the streets, discover treasures, eclectic specialty shops and boutiques to snag Christmas gifts that are original and unique. Businesses will be launching their 2021 Holiday lines so you’ll be the first to see all their new holiday inventory.
Memory Tree In Brooke Baxter Memorial Park
The Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. is taking orders for the purchase of Memory Tree Ornaments. These ornaments can be purchased for $15 for 1 or $25 for 2. Each ornament will have placed inside them the name of the person that is being memorialized. Bulbs will be placed on the Memory Tree in the Brooke Baxter Memorial Park through the holiday season.
If you would like to honor a love one’s memory as part of this special holiday season you can purchase an ornament bulb here. The deadline to purchase is Monday, November 15th.
Mistletoe Market
Join us on Saturday, November 20th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Montgomery Event Venue for this one day shopping event that kicks off the holiday shopping season!
It’s great for a girl’s day out! Spend Saturday sipping a glass of wine while you enjoying shopping local with artisans and vendors with your favorite products to help know out some of your holiday shopping needs. Check out a list of vendors on our Facebook Page.
Elf Factory

We’re excited to announce that the Elf Factory is back for 2021!
Join us on Saturday, November 20th from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Excelsior Springs Community Center.
These four hours consist of holiday arts and crafts for children of all ages! Participants can choose crafts ranging in price from 50 cents to $6.00. Come enjoy the holiday with us while your little ones make crafts and ornaments and dances with Christmas Spirit. Let them be Santa’s Little Helper for the day. Check out some craft sneak peeks here.
Mayor’s Downtown Lighting Ceremony
The night of Saturday, November 20th is when we shine! Join us at the Carolyn Schutte Pocket Park with Beatz DJ and Mayor Sharon Powell as we ‘flip the switch’ and illuminate the streets of downtown.
While you can see the rooftops from anywhere in downtown, the Mayor’s Christmas Tree will be placed in the Pocket Park for this year’s celebration!
Lighted Christmas Parade
It’s almost time for Excelsior Springs’ greatest parade, The Lighted Christmas Parade! This year’s theme is “A Christmas Vacation”. The parade kicks off following the Mayor’s Downtown Lighting Ceremony. Pick a spot on Broadway or Thompson and enjoy the show! The parade will use the same route at the annual Homecoming Parade. Letters From Santa’s North Pole Express
Receive an official letters from Santa’s North Pole Express!
Follow the rules and have your kiddos drop their letters to Santa in the North Pole Mailbox located outside the Excelsior Springs Museum & Archives. Letters will be collected from November 20th through December 15th. Make sure to include the child’s first and last name and return mailing address. Stay tuned, we think Santa’s email will be up and running soon and you’ll be able to write him online, too.
Lane of Lights
Come one, come all!
Don’t miss out on taking a trip through Lover’s Lane during the Christmas Season to enjoy the Lane of Lights. Take in all of the displays and let the spirit of Christmas take you away! Each evening of the season a different not for profit group hosts the lane. We suggest a $5 donation per vehicle when you come visit. It’s a perfect start to an evening in Excelsior Springs or an event better way to cap off your experience. Small Business Saturday
Join us in Downtown Excelsior Springs on Saturday, November 27th for a day of shopping, giveaways and giving back! Show Your Love, Shop Small and Love Local in Downtown!
Here in downtown, Small Business Saturday is a lot like Christmas!
