Community Wide Spring Clean Up! – April 22nd
The Downtown Excelsior Partnership (DEP), the Excelsior Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, Excelsior Springs Parks & Recreation and Excelsior Springs Rotary Club are partnering to host the first annual Community Wide Spring Cleaning Event on Earth Day, April 22nd, 2017.
This event encourages individuals to take community pride and clean up areas of our community. The event will be held from 9:00 am to NOON. Each sponsoring organization has their own focus area for clean up. The Downtown Excelsior Partnership will be focusing on cleaning up and beautifying the Downtown Historic Districts, the Excelsior Springs Area Chamber of Commerce will be focusing on cleaning up and beautifying the West Side of town business districts and Excelsior Springs Parks & Rec and Rotary Club will be hosting a stream clean up in Downtown Excelsior Springs.
All of these groups are looking forward to the community effort. Those individuals interested in volunteering downtown should contact Lyndsey Baxter at exec@visitesprings.com, individuals interested in volunteering on the West Side should contact Tosha Jackson at tosha@exspgschamber.com and individuals interested in volunteering with stream clean up should contact Nate Williams at nwilliams@ci.excelsior-springs.mo.us.
Individuals volunteering on the West Side of town should meet at Rite-Way Auto Services by 9:00 am on the day of the event and individuals volunteering downtown or assisting with stream clean up should meet at the Carolyn Schutte Pocket Park by 9:00 am on the day of the event.
The sponsoring organizations would also like to recognize the City of Excelsior Springs for supporting this community wide initiative and supplying volunteers with some of the supplies needed on the day of the event.
The sponsoring organizations are looking forward to making this an annual event. To celebrate the community effort, please join us at Rite-Way Auto Services following the event for a celebratory BBQ. For more information about this event please visit the Facebook event page, Community Wide
