DEP Receives Website Development Grant from Missouri Division of Tourism

The Downtown Excelsior Partnership (DEP), an organization leading the grassroots effort to revitalization in Downtown Excelsior Springs, received an $1,100.00 grant on June 1, 2017.  This grant was endowed by the Missouri Division of Tourism for the purpose of website development to the Visit Excelsior tourism website.
The goal of the project is to transition the Visit Excelsior tourism website into a mobile-friendly website.  The Downtown Excelsior Partnership will be working with Kevin & Sonya Morgan on this transition beginning in July of this year.  The goal is to not only make the website mobile-friend, but to also update pictures and content on all of the pages.
The Visit Excelsior tourism website has reached nearly 200,000 visitors and over 3.2 million hits since it’s launch in 2015.  Executive Director, Lyndsey M. Baxter stated, “The Visit Excelsior website continues to grow each year.  We are already projecting our numbers for 2017 to double those numbers from 2015 and 2016 combined.  This grant will allow us to make a necessary update to this great tourism tool for Excelsior Springs.  Today, most individuals traffic websites at their fingertips via their cell phones and tablets.  In order to make this website as efficient as possible we have to become mobile-friendly.  We are truly fortunate that the Missouri Division of Tourism supports our efforts of revitalization within Excelsior Springs.  We are really looking forward to completing these updates.”
The Downtown Excelsior Partnership and the Morgan’s will be working together in hopes to launch the new mobile-friendly site by this fall.
