Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. Maintains Accredited Status
The Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. is once again a nationally and state Accredited Main Street community following a program assessment by Missouri Main Street Connection (MMSC). Accredited status is the highest level a downtown revitalization program can achieve.
To receive National and State Accreditation status, a community must meet or exceed the 10-point criteria established by the National Main Street Center, a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. These criteria are utilized across the country to recognize high achieving Main Street programs.
MMSC State Director, Gayla Roten stated, “The Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. has demonstrated the value of Downtown Excelsior Springs through a diligent, planned effort to retain and recruit entrepreneurs to open businesses in the heart of the community. These efforts have had a huge return-on-investment with reduced vacancies and increases sales tax revenue.”
Throughout the 2019 year, the Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. invested over $58,000 in downtown beautification, spent of $77,700 marketing downtown and the Visit Excelsior campaign while reaching over 1.1 Million people on Facebook and having over 182,000 visitors to the Visit Excelsior website visitors. They were able to successfully complete 56 projects, initiatives and event during the year while hosting over 100 downtown event days. Additionally, volunteers for the Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. donated 4,747 hours of their time to our community revitalization efforts.

Achieving Accredited status, showcases that the Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. is achieving this goal through their work and doing so at an elevated level.
