Knit Ewe Together is a charming yarn shop that not only offers a rainbow array of yarns and knitting supplies, but also services as a hub where ideas and stitches flow freely. Guests can expect to be embraced by a warm, welcoming atmosphere filled with the shooting click of needles and the soft textures of hand-dyed wools. What inspired you to start/open your business in Downtown Excelsior Springs?:
I have lived and worked in Excelsior Springs for the past 15 years and have always enjoyed engaging with the community.
What makes your business unique?:
We carry a lot of local products…..Locally raised wools & fibers, locally dyed Yarns and locally crafted products.
What are the must-try products or services you offer? And what makes them special?:
We have great groups that meet for our BYOC times, they are always willing to lend a helping hand, share a tip or trick that picked up on and have a good time together.
Do you host any events, workshops, or special promotions that customers/visitors should be aware of?:
We have a beginners Knitting class every 2nd Saturday of the month from 10-12pm, Beginners Crochet every 4th Saturday of the month from 10-12pm, Kids crochet class every 3rd Saturday of the month from 10-12pm. A full list of our classes and events are listed on our website calendar. Registration is required for all classes via the website or in-store.
We have a great no knit/crochet class coming up on May 21, 1-3pm or May 23, 6-8pm we are creating a beautiful yarn wall hanging for $30. All supplies are included and you only have to know how to braid and tie your shoes!!
Aside from your own business, can you recommend another must-visit shop in Downtown Excelsior Springs?:
It seems that I am at Other Trails and Willow Spring on a weekly basis, I just can’t get enough of them both!!
How does your business engage with the Excelsior Springs community? Are there local causes or community projects that you’re passionate about or involved with?:
We love having fun with the Cinco-ish De Mayo party, Farmers Market and Spring Open House/Sidewalk sales, etc.
We are always willing to support our local causes when they have fundraising events.
Every June we have a Baby Shower and collect baby items (handmade or store bought) for the local charities.
What advice or tips do you have for visitors coming to Downtown Excelsior Springs?:
Visit EVERY store, you never know what hidden treasures you will find!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with visitors and locals?:
We love our customers and truly enjoy hosting the BYOC (Bring Your Own Craft) days. Our groups meet for 5 minutes, or the entire time it’s up to you how long you want to stay. Every week: Wednesdays 1-5pm, Thursdays 5-7pm and Saturdays 11-4pm. Beginner or advanced, all are welcome.
