17th Annual Chocolate Tour – Great Success For Downtown Excelsior Springs
Chocolate, Caramel and Wine were the key words for the 17th Annual Chocolate Tour hosted by the Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. (DEP) last Saturday! And it was a success for everyone involved! 400 Chocolate Tour Goers flooded the streets and businesses of Downtown Excelsior Springs! Not only did this event raise $10,000 for the Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc., it netted its largest estimated economic impact for downtown merchants in 17 years, yielding over $35,500 into the cash registers of DEP partners!
Of the 400 attendees, 273 were visitors to Excelsior Springs and 47.4% were first time attendees! Additionally, those 400 individuals came from 53 different communities and 4 different states!
74.8% of attendees rated the event as good or excellent and 92.3% are likely to attend again during future Chocolate Tour events. More importantly, our downtown participating businesses indicated that they were all VERY SATISIFIED with the event, 100% reported an increase in sales compared to the 16th Annual Chocolate Tour, as well as an increase in sales compared to a normal, non-event, Saturday.
The Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. largely accredits the success of the Chocolate Tour to the businesses that make it possible. Below is a list of the 29 participating locations that were stops on this year’s event.
