👏 A big congratulations to Charlie McDaniels, this year’s Behind the Scenes Hero!

So much of what makes our events successful depends on the people who work behind the scenes. The ones who make sure things run smoothly, even when nobody is watching. Charlie McDaniels is one of those people.
If you’ve ever spent time with us during the BBQ weekend, chances are Charlie had a hand in making it happen.
Charlie is everywhere. Hanging banners, running power for the beer garden, feeding BBQ to 50 Home Brew attendees, helping with trash, delivering water and ice, and staying late to help put away equipment. When most people are heading home, Charlie is still working.
And that’s just one weekend! He the guys who always says, “Tell me what you need and I’ll get it done.”
Charlie’s volunteering might not always be front and center, but it’s the backbone of what makes the weekend run smoothly. And tonight, we’re excited to say we see him and shine a light on his hard work by presenting him with the Behind The Scenes Hero Award.

Melissa Barlett is one of those people you can count on to always be there for everything! She supports our downtown businesses by shopping, dining, and attending events all year long. But her impact goes far beyond that.
Melissa is an extremely active member on our Christmas Team. She single handedly manages the Holiday Homes Tour and pours her energy into making sure it’s a success. Last year, she stepped up in countless ways during the Christmas season – filling in wherever needed, no matter how big or small.
Her love for not only downtown, but this community, shows in everything she does. She’s dedicated, generous, and truly all in when it comes to helping make this community the best it can be.
That’s why we’re proud to recognize Melissa Bartlett with this year’s All In Award.
