DEP & Partners Shine as Semifinalists in Missouri Main Street Connection Awards
Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. (DEP) is happy to announce the advancement as semifinalists in three categories of the Missouri Main Street Connection (MMSC) Evening of Excellence Achievement Awards. MMSC State Director, Gayla Roten, communicated the exciting news earlier today, highlighting the impactful efforts of DEP and its partners across various revitalization initiatives.
Executive Director of DEP, Baxter, expressed her enthusiasm, “It’s always such a great feeling to see the dedicated individuals from Downtown Excelsior Springs be recognized for their hard work and efforts toward revitalizing our community. The path to revitalization is challenging and time consuming, but we are fortunate to have a collaborative approach that has been key to downtown’s success. We are immensely proud of our team and partners for achieving these recognitions.”
DEP’s ARPA Tourism Marketing Matching Grant Program for Creative New Promotion
DEP has been recognized for its innovative approach to tourism and marketing with the “ARPA Tourism Marketing Matching Grant Program,” which has been named a semifinalist for the Creative New Promotion Award. This program has significantly enhanced tourism visibility and economic vitality in Downtown Excelsior Springs. Hall of Waters for Best Historic Preservation Project
The historic Hall of Waters, a landmark of Downtown Excelsior Springs, has been acknowledged for the Best Historic Preservation Project. This nomination showcases the community and the City’s commitment to preserving and celebrating our rich heritage. Mark & Brenda Kilgore (414 Company) for Outstanding Economic Impact
Additionally, Mark & Brenda Kilgore of the 414 Company have been selected as semifinalists for the Outstanding Economic Impact Award. Their significant contributions to the economic landscape of Downtown Excelsior Springs, specifically Thompson Avenue, have not gone unnoticed. Keith Hudson for Spirit of Main Street Award
DEP also submitted a nomination for Keith Hudson to receive the Spirit of Main Street Award. DEP wanted to celebrate his extraordinary commitment and contributions to Downtown Excelsior Springs. Keith’s enthusiasm and tireless efforts have played a pivotal role in fostering the spirit of community in Downtown Excelsior Springs. “To be named semifinalists is not only exciting, but also humbling,” Baxter added. “We’re going up against a lot of great downtowns across the state of Missouri. We are looking forward to celebrating at the Evening of Excellence and hearing about all the amazing programming happening around the entire state.”
These semifinalists will be celebrated at the upcoming Evening of Excellence, a highlight of the Missouri Main Street Conference. This special event will take place on Thursday, August 1st at The Bauer in Kansas City, Missouri, where attendees will gather to honor the innovative and impactful work being down throughout Missouri.
