Trails
For the runners, the Downtown Excelsior Springs Trail System includes three trails: Fishing River Park Trail, Isley Park Woods Trail and Siloam Mountain Trail. These trails wind through five parks: Paul Craig Park, Fishing River Linear Park, Isley Park Woods, East Valley Park and Siloam Mountain Park. The entire trail is approximately 2 miles long. The historic Superior Well can be seen from the Fishing River Linear Park Trail. Numerous challenging dirt trails can be found throughout Isley Park Woods.
Minutes north of Excelsior Springs is the Watkins Mill State Historic Park, which includes other nature walking and biking trails.
Bikers are invited to participate in our local Opal Wapoo Gravel Grinder 50- or 100-mile bike race that takes place annually during our Waterfest celebration. The challenging course includes roughly 9,000 feet of climb on the 100 mile course, mixing long, gradual hills with short, steep ones. Click here to find out more!
