With an existing business adding a brewing component and a new brewery opening in the Spring of 2018, we are becoming a beer lover’s dream. In addition to enjoying the brews at our establishments, we offer beer gardens at several of our festivals and have one in the fall dedicated to the craft beer industry.

A Few Words From Our Executive Director
We are off to a great start in Downtown Excelsior Springs for 2018! We have new businesses opening their doors, revitalization efforts and building improvements underway, the event season kicking off and so much more! Since beginning 2018, DEP has presented our annual report to the City of Excelsior Springs City Council and the results from 2017 were so great, I wanted to take the opportunity to share them with you too!
We Welcomed 5 New Businesses to Downtown
We Added 7 Part Time Jobs & 1 Full Time Job
Nearly $26,000 Were Spent In Private Building Investment
1,919.5 Volunteer Hours Were Donated to DEP. That equals $44,282.87!
DEP Completed 47 Projects, Events & Initiatives in 2017
Over 177,000 Unique Visitors to Visit Excelsior Tourism Website
28 Days of DEP Events Bringing Over 13,000 People to Downtown
Awarded Over $5,000 in Façade Grants
DEP Invested Nearly $150,000 in Low Interest Loans to Businesses

We have recently performed significant goal setting for 2018 and can’t wait to see the future success and growth of Downtown Excelsior Springs during the upcoming year! April Quarterly Meeting
DEP would like to extend an additional reminder and invitation about our April Quarterly Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 11th, at 9:00 a.m. at Ventana Gourmet Grill. This quarterly meeting is being sponsored by the Excelsior Springs Chamber Trolley. During this meeting we will put a great focus on the kick off of tourism season for Downtown Excelsior Springs and ways in which businesses can capitalize on this tourism to better their businesses. We will be supplying coffee and breakfast snacks so please RSVP to our Executive Director if you plan to attend.
Excelsior Springs Chamber Trolley
Experience Excelsior Springs aboard one of the two Chamber Trolleys! The Chamber hosts a variety of tours year-round. Wine Tours, Easter Bunny Tour, Craft Beer Tours, Wine & Dine Dinner Tours, Historic Mineral Water Tours, Paranormal Tours, Holiday Lights Tours and more! Plus, both trolleys are available for private rental use too. The Little Trolley is an authentic streetcar-style trolley and can accommodate up to 22 guests, while the Big Trolley has all the features of a city bus including handicap accessibility, but with the charm of real wood seats and brass interior accents. The Big Trolley can comfortably accommodate up to 28 passengers. Save the date for Saturday, April 14th and join us in Downtown Excelsior Springs for our Spring Sidewalk Sales! Help us kick off Spring with specials and discounts you won’t be able to pass up! Gin & Jazz “A Great Gatsby Affair”
The Downtown Excelsior Partnership and Chamber of Commerce are partnering again to host the 2nd Annual Gin & Jazz, A Great Gatsby Affair! Join us again for some speak easy fun in the Historic Hall of Waters on Friday, May 11th. Presales tickets are $10 or $15 at the door! Get your tickets early at the presale party on Second Friday, April 13th, at Willow Spring Mercantile! It’s a night full of prohibition era cocktails, dancing and more! Come dressed in your best and help us kick off Gatsby Weekend in Downtown Excelsior Springs!
12th Annual Wine Festival
Whether you are a seasoned wine connoisseur or still figuring out the difference between chardonel and champagne, the Excelsior Springs Wine Festival in for you! Now in it’s 12th year, this event places the wines of Missouri on display for festival attendees to sample, learn wine making methods and speak directly with the wine makers themselves! An assortment of live bands will provide the background music and keep the festival lively! This festival uses find art and craft vendors who add to the air of refinement and class! Tickets to the Wine Festival include access to the grounds, free wine samples, a sampling glass, and the option to buy additional wine by the glass, bottle or case. Tickets for the event are on sale April 2nd and can be purchased by clicking here or you can also volunteer for the event for a 2 hour period and receive a free ticket. Pancake Breakfast
DEP and the Christmas Committee are teaming up again to host the annual pancake breakfast at Ventana Gourmet Grill during Waterfest weekend. You have the choice between $5 pancakes or biscuits and gravy. All proceeds are used to add Christmas décor to downtown during the holiday season. Save the date, June 23rd, and join us for a delicious breakfast!

New Planters Coming Soon!
Have you noticed the whiskey barrel planters have left the downtown streetscape? Well, we’re upgrading! We have recently purchased 30 new planters to incorporate into the downtown streetscape. These new planters are the Hall of Waters teal, with the Mayan Gods face etched in. Stayed tune for our Spring planting date if you would like to volunteer and help beautify downtown!
Promotion Committee At Work…
The promotion committee is hard at work gearing up for all of the upcoming events during our tourism season. They are planning for the Wine Festival, Second Fridays, Pancake Breakfast, Mug Shots, the Benefit Dinner and additional sip and shop events in Downtown. If you are interested in joining their efforts, let us know, or join us for our monthly committee meeting, the first Thursday of each month.

Planters, Historic Plaques, Historic Preservation Month, Banners, Downtown Lighting, Façade Grants and so much more! If any of these items sounds interesting, join us on the third Thursday of every month to help beautify Downtown!
Economic Vitality Committee At Work…
Our Economic Vitality Committee is constantly brainstorming ways to bring new businesses to Downtown Excelsior Springs and educate current property and business owners on the tools available to them for success. If recruiting and retaining businesses interest you, join us the second Thursday of each month!
Website Committee At Work…
Our Visit Excelsior Website Committee is always hard at work to create the best possible tourism website that increases visitors to our community and benefits the businesses! If you’re tech savvy or have great ideas about how to strengthen this tool join us the third Tuesday of each month!
Organization Committee At Work…
Our Organization Committee just recently completed a SWAT analysis to goal set for DEP in the upcoming year. We are seeing a lot of growth and want to be prepared for how to best move forward. This committee is also the center of fundraising for DEP. If you are interested in helping raise funds for DEP, join us the second Wednesday of each month.
2018 Board Elections Fast Approaching
If you are a paid Investor of DEP, be on the look up for your Annual Board Member Election Ballot in the mail. We will have two seats up for election! Those elected will be announced in May and will take office on July 1, 2018.
