DEP Takes the Reins of the Christmas Committee as the Chamber Passes the Torch
The Excelsior Springs Area Chamber of Commerce is passing the torch for the Christmas Committee and the Community Christmas Celebration to the Downtown Excelsior Partnership (DEP).
“Progress often requires change, and everyone at the Chamber agrees that this is a great move for the Christmas Committee,” said Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director, Tosha Jackson. “We appreciate all of the hard work and dedication that the Christmas Committee volunteers have put in over the years. We look forward to continuing our working relationship with the Downtown Excelsior Partnership.”

Baxter, DEP, Executive Director. “This committee and all they strive toward, through hosting these events, further promotes our mission of revitalizing Downtown Excelsior Springs and enhancing tourism to our community while making a special place for our residents. We truly believe this is a great change that is beneficial for all organizations involved and we look forward to continuing our partnership with the Chamber of Commerce while working hard to make sure this celebration continues to grow.”
In the months leading up to the Annual Christmas Kick Off on Saturday, November 23rd, DEP’s Christmas Committee will be seeking sponsorships and participants for the upcoming Christmas season. Events will include the Hall of Trees, the Light Christmas Parade, the Holiday Homes Tour, the Elf Factory, the Taste of Christmas, Polar Express Pictures with Santa, Mistletoe Market, Building and Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and the Lane of Lights.
