The Biggest Event of the Year! Step Into a Winter Wonderland!

The magic of Christmas returns to Downtown Excelsior Springs during our Annual Lighted Christmas Parade! This year’s theme, “Winter Wonderland,” invites participants to transform downtown into a sparkling holiday scene filled with twinkling lights, shimmering snowflakes, frosty characters and plenty of Christmas cheer.

Gather your family and friends and find your favorite viewing spot along the parade route. You’ll see beautifully decorated floats, local businesses, community organizations, performers and familiar holiday characters lighting up the streets of downtown.

The evening begins with the Mayor’s Christmas Lighting Ceremony, followed immediately by the parade at approximately 6:00 PM. Bundle up, grab a warm drink and join us as we officially welcome the Christmas season to Excelsior Springs!

Want to help bring our Winter Wonderland to life?

Businesses, nonprofit organizations, churches, schools, clubs, families and community groups are invited to enter the parade. Decorate your float or vehicle with plenty of lights and show us your most creative interpretation of this year’s theme.

Think sparkling snow, icy blues, shimmering silver, snow-covered forests, snowmen, polar bears, winter villages and everything that makes the season feel magical!

All parade entries must register in advance.
