Pumpkins & Mums Fall Festival Huge Success

The Downtown Excelsior Partnership hosted their annual Pumpkins & Mums Fall Festival on Saturday October 22, 2016.  This event was a huge success for Downtown Excelsior Springs!  Broadway Street was transformed into a street fair for the event bringing over 3,000 people to downtown.  The festival had 43 vendors at this year’s event.  Many vendors were set up on Broadway Street from Penn Street to Main Street.  All of the food trucks, wineries, distilleries, beer garden and DJ were set up in the Farmer’s Market parking lot.

The streets were flooded with people enjoying the festival, beautiful weather, vendors, and downtown shops.  As the Executive Director of DEP it was amazing to see all of the hustle and bustle here in Downtown Excelsior Springs!  I have been receiving feedback from our vendors over the course of the week and they have nothing but positive feedback and can’t wait to be a part of next year’s event!  I have already had the opportunity to talk with many of our downtown business owners and they have said it was a great cash register ringing day!  This is what it’s all about and I love to see that it is working!

DEP was extremely excited to be able to partner with the Excelsior Springs School District for the children’s pumpkin painting activities, as well as the pie eating contest and pie in the face sponsored by The Mug.

I would also like to give a huge thank you to all of the individuals who helped make this event possible.  The Downtown Excelsior Partnership Promotion Committee is full of some extremely talented and driven individuals.  Without this group of ladies we would not be able to host events of this magnitude.  I would personally like to thank Carol Baxter, Cheryl Boos, Carrie Carr, Mary Colvin, Melissa Simmons and Jade Williams.

The Downtown Excelsior Partnership is looking forward to our upcoming November events and hope you will join us in Downtown Excelsior Springs for Second Friday on November 11th, Holiday Open Houses on November 19th and Small Business Saturday on November 26th.

See you in DOWNTOWN!!!
