Christmas is Here, Excelsior Springs!

Santa’s Helpers have been busy working hard in Excelsior Springs! They are excited to kick off the official Christmas Season on Saturday, November 19th! Mark your calendars… Text your friends… Here’s the breakdown on all things Christmas in Downtown Excelsior Springs!

Online Christmas Wreath Auction & Viewing

November 5th – November 19th

This event has already kicked off, but you still have about 24 hours to jump on the bandwagon! 22 beautiful wreaths were donated, and the auction is live! You can check it out here. What’s better than viewing online? Viewing them in person TONIGHT, at Pairings by Van Till from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Added bonus, you can also enjoy a Christmas Pop Up Fashion Show by Style By Ry at the same time! Grab your friends and come on down, you won’t want to miss it! This is a free event! The online auction closes Saturday the 19th, at NOON.

Downtown Holiday Open Houses

November 19th 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Get ahead of the Christmas shopping game and see what our downtown shops & boutiques have to offer! The bonus? The first 25 guests to each shop will receive a Downtown Excelsior Springs Holiday Open House tote bag!

Elf Factory

November 19th – 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

This is the one for all the kiddos! They will love being Santa’s little helper for a while! Join us at the Excelsior Springs Community Center, where kids can create all kinds of holiday themed crafts and gifts for those they love. Crafts range from 50 cents to $6. There’s something to spark joy for every little one!

Gingerbread Man Hunt

November 19th – 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Gather your finest young investigators and head to Downtown Excelsior Springs for a scavenger hunt with a side of storytelling. The Christmas Committee has partnered with Inside Out Escape Entertainment to host this new event in 2022. Learn more about how to participate here.

Letters To Santa

November 19th – December 14th

Receive and Official Letter From Santa’s North Pole Express!
Follow the rules and have your kiddos drop their letters to Santa in the North Pole Mailbox located outside of the Excelsior Springs Museum & Archives and they will receive a personalized letter from Santa that comes straight from the North Pole Express! And this year you can send an email, too!

Mayor’s Downtown Lighting Ceremony

November 19th – 6:00 PM

Grab your family and gather for the magic of Christmas! The official start of the season happens as citizens gather around the streets of downtown, to watch the Mayor “flip on” thousands of lights, and the Mayor’s Dancing Christmas Tree in the Carolyn Schutte Pocket Park.

Lighted Christmas Parade

November 19th – 6:05 PM

Once the lights come on, turn your attention toward the streets of Broadway and Thompson where you can enjoy the Lighted Christmas Parade. With over 75 lighted participants, you won’t want to miss this! This year’s theme is “Sleigh Ride”! Bundle up and get ready for the fun!

Lane of Lights

November 19th – December 25th

It’s an Excelsior Springs Christmas favorite! Head over to Lover’s Lane to see what’s new at the Lane of Lights! Each evening of the season a different, non profit organizations hosts the lane. Pull into Lover’s Lane slowly and wait to be greeted. This is a free event, but we do suggest a $5 donation per car. This allows hosting groups to raise funds for their cause, and allows our Christmas Team to grow the lane each year. Load up, turn on the Christmas music and let the magic of Christmas take over.

Pictures In Santa’s Sleigh

November 20th – December 25th (Weekends Only)

Santa’s Sleigh will be placed in the Brooke Baxter Memorial Park throughout the Christmas Season. This is the perfect photo opportunity! The sleigh will be uncovered and available each weekend of the holiday season. Please remember to use the step stools to get in and out of the sleigh so that it is not damaged.

Memory Tree

November 19th – December 25th

The Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. will have bulbs displayed on the tree in the Brooke Baxter Memorial Park of loves ones who have been lost. This is a stunning display. Bulb purchases have officially closed, but you can email us at exec@visitesprings.com, if you would like to purchase a bulb to be placed on the tree throughout the remainder of the season.

Holiday Homes Tour

December 3rd – NOON – 6:00 PM

Grab your gal pals and enjoy a trip through 5 awe-inspiring Christmas Homes. You’ll visit these homes that are beautifully decorated and walk away with all the Christmas spirit and a inspiration for your own holiday decor. Tickets are $15 per person and available here.

A Miracle On Regent Street

December 7th – 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Join us at the Elms Hotel & Spa for a FREE opportunity to get pictures with Santa Claus. You’ll also receive magic reindeer food and go for a trip through the Lane of Lights on Santa’s Magic Sleigh. This opportunity is made possible through a partnership between the Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc., the Chamber of Commerce, and the Elms Hotel & Spa.

Cocktails & Candy Canes

December 10th – NOON to 5:00 PM

Grab your friends and get your tickets, these won’t last long! You’ll love popping into the 22 participating locations to see what festive merchandise they have available, plus you’ll be surprised with a cocktail tasting or a sweet treat! Whether you’re here for the cocktails, candy canes or Christmas presents it’s bound to be a great time! Tickets are limited to 200 so purchase early!
