Check Out Our List Of Fall Musts In Excelsior Springs

Take A Hike

With beautiful rolling hills throughout the town, hiking is a must this fall. We recommend taking advantage of all three downtown trails! The Fishing River Park Trail, Isley Park Woods Trail and Siloam Mountain Trail. These trails wind through five parks, Paul Craig Park, Fishing River Linear Park, Isley Park Woods, East Valley Park and Siloam Mountain Park. The entire trail is approximately 2 miles long. Not only can you see the historic Superior Well from the Fishing River Linear Park Trail, you will be up close and personal to the beautifully colored fall leaves. This is an activity that won’t disappoint. Take the family, take a friend or do it solo! You decide!

Go Wine Tasting

Whether you stop into Willow Spring Mercantile while in Downtown Excelsior Springs or head to the outskirts to visit one of our local wineries like Four Horses and a Dog, Van Till Family Farm Winery, or Fence Stile Vineyards and Winery, the wine won’t disappoint and neither will the views!

Each of these venues will provide the perfect fall feel you are looking for. Each nestled into their own unique space, you won’t be able to pick just one.

From Willow Spring Mercantile you will be able to enjoy the fall foliage of East Valley Park. At Four Horses and a Dog you will bask if the fall colors as you are surrounded by the trees. Fence Stile is surrounded by beautiful fall foliage as you explore the caves and you will be out in the middle of beauty when you visit Van Till Family Farm Winery.

Play A Round Of Golf

If you’re a golfer or you know a golfer, this is a course you won’t want to miss out on for a fall round! Book your round now at the Excelsior Springs Golf Course. This 100+ year old course is lined with beautiful trees. The fall foliage provides the perfect views from every tee box.

Grab your friends and make it a day! We promise it won’t disappoint!

Enjoy A Pint

Visiting both of our local breweries is a must during the fall months! When you swing in to Dubious Claims Brewing Co. this fall you’ll want to try his Oktoberfest beer! We recommend grabbing a slice of pizza to snack on while you enjoy your drink.

Your next brew stop has to be the Atlas Saloon Brewery. You’ll take a step back in time when you enter the door. Head Brewmaster Keith supplies 5 different craft beers on tap. They’re all delicious, but our favorite is the Helles.

Get Cozy at a B&B

Is there anything better than getting cozy on a cool fall night or crisp morning? We sure don’t think so!

Now with more options than ever, we know we have the perfect cozy place for you! Maybe it’s the firepit and breakfast at Payne Jailhouse Bed & Breakfast. Maybe it’s sitting in front of the fireplace at Sunny Side Cottage. Possibly a romantic fall getaway at the Inn on Crescent Lake or The Elms Hotel & Spa.

Is scary, spooky, ghostly or ghoulish words that peak your interest? If you said yes, then booking a Paranormal Ghost Tour at the Hall of Waters is a must!

You will be guided by a Ghost Tour team and provided with paranormal equipment to go explore and communicate with the spirits.

We hear there’s a lady in a red dress… You’ll have to let us know if you see her when you visit.
